Description

At University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking for the brightest and best to lead the Trust, and to join together with our colleagues in Bay Health & Care Partners, the Integrated Care Partnership for North Lancashire and South Cumbria, as we continue on our integration of health and care services to provide better care, better health, delivered sustainability.

The Chief Operating Officer will have a crucial role to play in redesigning delivery of hospital and community services to communities in the Bay area, with full accountability for their operational management and performance delivery.  They will have a clear role to play in continuing to oversee the Trust’s response to Covid-19, working closely with local delivery partners, and in planning and implementing the Trust’s recovery phases.

As the lead for service improvement, transformation and redesign, they will be instrumental in reimaging service delivery, drawing on the learning from Covid-19. In addition, as their portfolio responsibilities include Estates & Facilities they will also have a key role in developing a ‘once in a lifetime’ estates strategy that fully utilises opportunities presented through the HIP2 funding.

As a member of the senior leadership team they will be pivotal in overseeing improvement in our Care Quality Commission rating as we journey towards “outstanding”, with a reputation built as a great place to be cared for; a great place to work.

The Trust’s history, as well as the unique geographical challenges of the locality, makes this a really exceptional opportunity for a leader who can engage with colleagues and patients to deliver the strategic vision for the Trust and the Bay area.
